*  'a' is used before words beginning with a consonant sound - boom. 
eg: A pen, A student, A bag 
* 'an' is used before a vowel sound 
 eg. An umbrella, An American, An interesting  story
*  "A' is added to the words which begin with ‘у’ sound and ‘w’ sound. 
eg.  a uniform, a union(y sounded words), a one rupee note, a one way ticket, one legged sailor(w sounded Words) 
* "An” is used before abbreviations pronounced with a vowel sound at the beginning.

*  Don't use 'the’ before the names of games
